Thumbnail Theater History

In the spring of 2002, in the town of Snohomish WA, Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater “a cozy home for the performing arts” was born. Co-founded by Emmy award winning songwriter and producer, Tim Noah and Cyndi Elliott, MA, arts in education, the Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater found it’s home in a historic, 100 year old church. Responding to an obvious need in the community and with the permission and support of the congregation, Tim and Cyndi began by offering private lessons in voice, guitar and piano and classes in musical theater. With the help of volunteers, a stage was constructed in the main sanctuary. Soon, sound and lighting were added and performances, open mics and recitals by and for members of the local community began. In 2005, Thumbnail Theater was granted it’s official 501c3 status by the Federal Government. In 2007 Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater bought the building from the church. With nine active board members and ever-increasing support from local citizens, businesses, corporations and civic groups, Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater now offers a weekly open mic, a monthly jazz jam, three monthly children’s performances-The Imagine Inn, a monthly storytelling circle,  Second Sunday Song Syrcle, weekly Israeli Folk Dance, and ongoing private music lessons in voice, piano and guitar as well as classes in musical theater, movement and acting. We present annual holiday performances, our own homegrown radio style variety shows and frequent high-quality performances from professional touring artists.  Your support of Thumbnail Theater is always appreciated.
