Note to the Story Circle meeting in Snohomish on December 18, 2011

I am writing to let you know that Bill and I have moved to Bend, OR.  Though we have talked about the move for the past two years, the actual decision on a house and the move itself happened quickly and suddenly we are gone. This is happy news, but one can’t open a door without closing others and I am sad that I will no longer be with you in the circle.

I’d hoped to write something beautiful or clever but what does one do when communicating to a group of talented people like you?   If only I could write something that Bob could accompany with his harmonica.  Bill could write a beautiful poem about my move and Cindy could illustrate it while she told the story so nicely.  Barb could write about how God is in the mountain I see out my window now and Tim could put a story to music on his guitar.  And Mary, she could strum her harp as we travel away yet it would be the music of her voice and the magic of her stories that would warm our hearts and make us aware of our connection with one another.

So I will simply tell you that it has meant much to me to be a part of your circle.  I greatly enjoyed hearing your music, your poetry, your stories and the sharing of your lives with one another.  Your encouragement has meant the difference to me of telling only one story on a Sunday night and now telling stories whenever I have the chance.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I will miss our gathering but know that I will hear news of marvelous things happening
when you are together.

It is my wish that we will meet again.

Until then – peace,

Beverly Allen
